Raavan - Movie - Hindi/Tamil

The much expected Manirathnam-Ar Rahman's combinational movie Raavan is expected to hit the screens by June 2010.

The film has lots of attractions tagged to it - number one being Manirathnam & AR Rehman , the director who makes a mark in his films. Till his "Guru", none of his movies were an ordinary commercial movie. Every movie speaks for itself and ofcourse he "tags" some controversial ideas too to his movies. He sees things in a different angle rather than a conventional angle and thats the reason, his movies are appaluded and always has lots of hype, starting from the initail stage of shooting. The expectation and rumours are that this movie too has a controversy tagged to it. But we have to remain with our fingers crossed till we get to see the movie on screen.

AR Rehman, as always has got brilliant scores for this movie too both in Hindi and Tamil. The songs "Beera" and "behne de " in Hindi version and "Veera" and "Usirey Pogudhey" in Tamil version tops the charts.

Then none other than Ash and Abhishek Bachan - the real time pairs, also pairing up on screen - though not for the first time - creates a lots of expectations among the fans and audiences.

Angadi Theru - Movie - Tamil

The leading roles performed by the new comers.. I think for the leading lady this must have been the second or third movie, not very sure.

The star of the movie is "The Storyline" and the "the theme/arena" chosen by the writer/director to spun a reailistic love story (cant say beautiful love story as it is not a mesmerising, romatic love story, like gautham menons' one ;)) but it was really very touching and very practical.. No usual filmy dialogues and gimmicks.

The story revolves round the famous Ranganathan street of chennai. The main crux of the movie is exposing the lifestyle of the people who work for their survival in a leadig texttile shop in Ranganathan street, T Nagar. Though he named it as "Senthil Murugan Stores " anybody can understand whom is he pointing to by showing "Annachi" as the owner of the shop. The director has not failed to capture the other aspects of the street too, like,a blind man selling things for a meagre commission, physically challenged person doing business and running a family with good hopes on his expecting child which finally turned out disappointing, young man struggling for survival and uses an opportunity there to make money .. things like that .. Anaother thing that can be enjoyed in the movie is the slang of Tirunelveli.

The story clearly points out how young boys and gals from very remote village, who actually starve, or who have more commitments towards their family , are brought to the city in the name of "employment" and how they are "exploited" with less pay, stringent and rude rules like, delay to work in every min, cuts 1 re from their pay, shabby and untidy mess, very poor accomodation etc...the health aspects of the employees are totally ignored and they suck as much as possible from these poor aspirants from remote villages who come here with the dream of making money for their family... its actually very schocking to know this and little bit hard to digest also.

Amidst all these , director has managed to show a very realistic and neat love story. With nice melodious songs like "kathaigal pesum" and "aval appadi ondrum azhagu illai" are good to hear.

I think its a must watch movie, which is very much different from other mega commercial movies. But those who love and enjoy commecial movies whch just has songs and fights back to back might feel this a little bit slow movie.

I bet, who ever watches this movie, will surely have a soft corner towards those sales boys and girls when they go next time to "that" shop in paticular.
